Paul joined Sionna as chief operating officer (COO) in 2013. Paul is also the firm's chief compliance officer (CCO). He brings with him more than 20 years of experience, most recently as COO at Thornmark Asset Management, where he oversaw the firm’s strategy implementation, business management and operations. Prior to that, Paul held senior positions at Rockwater Asset Management, CIBC, Andersen Business Consulting and Arthur Andersen LLP. Paul earned his honours business administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business, and is a CFA® charterholder and a chartered accountant. He is a member of CFA Society Toronto and serves as a mentor in the CFA Mentorship Program. Paul is a member of the Portfolio Management Association of Canada and is the past chair of its Operations Heads’ Network. Paul is currently serving a two-year term on the Ontario Security Commission’s Registrant Advisory Committee.
Ian joined Sionna as vice president of operations in January 2014. He brings with him more than 15 years of experience, most recently as assistant vice president of information technology at MFS McLean Budden, where he was responsible for managing, developing and implementing all of the firm’s technology projects and processes. Ian earned his honours bachelor of mathematics degree, with a major in computer science at the University of Waterloo.
Elaine joined Sionna as a trader in 2014. She brings more than 25 years of experience, most recently as North American sales trader at Pavilion Global Markets. She earned her business administration diploma at Sheridan College and has completed various Canadian Securities Institute courses, including the Canadian Securities Course, Canadian Investment Finance Part I and II and the Conduct and Practices Handbook Course. In 2006, Elaine obtained her U.S. Series 37 designation. Elaine is a member of the Institutional Equity Traders Association of Toronto and the Canadian Securities Traders Association.
Kristin joined Sionna in August 2012. She brings several years of experience in operations management and legal administration. Prior to joining the firm, she spent four years working in London, England at a barristers’ chambers as a manager. Kristin is fluent in French and has completed her HR Law Certificate from Osgoode Hall Law School of York University. She is a member of the Human Resources Professionals Association and is working towards the completion of her CHRP designation. Kristin has completed the CFA Institute Investment Foundations Certificate program and is currently co-Chair of the Portfolio Management Association of Canada Operation Heads’ HR Focused Network.
Lauren joined Sionna as controller in October 2014. Prior to joining the firm, she spent almost five years at CW Partners LLP in their Assurance and Tax practice, most recently as a manager. Lauren earned her honours bachelor of business administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, where she graduated with distinction. She received her chartered professional accountant designation in 2012. Lauren earned a CFA Institute Investment Foundations certificate in 2016 and is co-chair of the Portfolio Management Association of Canada Operation Heads’ Finance Focused Network.
Chauntay joined Sionna in 2007 as part of the relationship management team, and has been taking on greater responsibility throughout the firm. In 2015, she assumed her current role as an associate on the operations team supporting the chief compliance officer. Chauntay has completed the Osgoode Certificate in Regulatory Compliance and Legal Risk Management for Financial Institutions.
Hunter joined Sionna as a junior trader in 2017. He earned his honours business administration from the Ivey School of Business at Western University and is expected to complete a degree in economics from Western this fall. Prior to joining Sionna, Hunter held positions at Aloris Mercantile as a corporate FX trader and at RBC as an institutional equities sales and trading summer analyst. Hunter has successfully passed Level I of the CFA Program.
Caroline first joined Sionna in 2015 as a portfolio administration associate, leaving in 2017 to complete her Holistic Nutrition designation at the Institute for Holistic Nutrition. She returned to Sionna in 2019 and continues to provide nutritional coaching in her spare time. She earned her banking and wealth management diploma at Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. Caroline has successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct and Practices Handbook Course.
Lucy joined Sionna in 2017 as an associate, trading and portfolio administration. She has more than four years of industry experience, most recently at RBC as a derivative valuation analyst. Lucy attended the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, where she earned her bachelor of commerce, specializing in accounting. She has successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course and successfully passed Level I of the CFA Program.
Zion joined Sionna in 2018 as associate, performance and analytics. He has a number of years of experience in the industry, most recently as a senior performance analyst at Sentry Investments. Zion earned his bachelor of arts, with a major in economics from the University of Waterloo, holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation and successfully passed Level I of the CFA Program.
Nina joined Sionna in 2013 as executive assistant to the president and chief investment officer. Prior to joining the firm, she spent nine years at Canderel Management, where she provided administrative support to members of the senior management team. Nina has taken career development courses at George Brown College.
