Kim founded Sionna in 2002 and has more than 35 years of industry experience. She is the President and Co-Chief Investment officer at Sionna, and was previously Chief Investment Officer and Senior Vice President at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers Canada. Kim serves as a board member with the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance and is the Chair of its Governance Committee. She is also on the board for the Brandes Institute, the Ontario Arts Foundation, United Corporation (a listed closed-end fund), a member of the C.D. Howe Institute’s National Council and the CFA Institute Board of Regents (she previously served as its chair). Kim is also a past President of the CFA Society Toronto. She was awarded Morningstar Fund Manager of the Year (2005), the RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur Award, the Women’s Executive Network’s Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award (2007, 2017), continuously listed as one of Profit Magazine’s Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs over the last several years and a recipient of the 2015 Rotman Women in Management Association Top 10 Awards (Entrepreneur Category).
Stephen joined Sionna in 2019 and is the Co-Chief Investment Officer. He is the co-lead portfolio manager for Sionna high conviction strategy and the lead portfolio manager for the firm’s global value strategy and focused U.S. value strategy. Stephen brings more than 25 years of experience in both domestic and global equity markets. He began his career in 1990 as an analyst at Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Company and was most recently Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Vice President at CI Harbour Funds. Stephen currently sits on The Niagara Community Foundation's Investment Committee. Stephen is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University, where he earned an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree and is a CFA® charterholder.
Marlena joined Sionna in 2012 and is a Portfolio Manager. She is the lead Portfolio Manager for the firm's focused Canadian value strategy and co-lead Portfolio Manager for the focused dividend strategy and high conviction strategy. Prior to joining Sionna, she spent one year in the Financial Management Program at General Electric. Marlena earned her Honours Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. Marlena is a CFA® charterholder and a member of CFA Society Toronto.
Marian joined Sionna in 2004 and is a Senior Vice President and Research Director. She is the lead portfolio manager for the firm’s Canadian large cap strategy and all cap strategy and co-lead portfolio manager for the firm’s focused dividend strategy. Marian earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Yale University and is a CFA® charterholder. She is a member of CFA Society Toronto.
Jackie is an Associate Portfolio Manager. He joined Sionna as an Equity Research Analyst in 2013 following a summer internship in 2012. He earned his Bachelor of Commerce with a major in finance from the University of British Columbia. Jackie has completed the Canadian Securities Course and the Derivatives Fundamentals Course. He is a CFA® charterholder and a member of CFA Society Toronto.
Gary joined Sionna as an Equity Research Analyst in 2014 and became an Associate Portfolio Manager in 2019. Prior to joining Sionna, he was a Generalist at RBC Wealth Management and worked at RBC Capital Markets and Deloitte Consulting. Gary earned his MBA from the Rotman School of Management and both his Honours Business Administration and Bachelor of Engineering Science from the University of Western Ontario. He is a CFA® charterholder and a member of CFA Society Toronto.
Paul joined Sionna in 2018, as an Equity Research Analyst. He earned his Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Financial Management from Wilfrid Laurier University, graduating with high distinction. He was also awarded with the Alumni Gold Medal. Paul completed three co-op terms with Sionna as a Student Research Analyst.
